My Story

Like a lot of paddlers, I didn’t start out confident.

I remember what it felt like to be unsure in moving water—second-guessing decisions, struggling with technique, and not always feeling in control. Progress didn’t come from random trips or guesswork. It came from intentional practice, good instruction, and time spent understanding how rivers actually work.

That experience is what shaped Ohio Kayak Instruction.

I built this business to give people the kind of coaching that actually makes a difference—the kind that shortens the learning curve, builds real skills, and helps you avoid the frustration and risk that come from trying to figure it all out on your own.
